FAQs

How long does it take to cool?

H3 cools at 20-30 degrees per hour, possibly the best performing chiller on the market. 1-2 hours for most users.

Does it work on a regular outlet?

Yes, HomePlunge works on a standard 15A outlet.

Do I need to buy maintenance kits?

No. Drain your bath when it gets dirty and refill clean. The filter is reusable and can be cleaned once a month. No monthly fees on filters or cleaning kits.

How long is the warranty?

One year and we offer additional warranty options for purchase.

Does HomePlunge need to run 24/7 like other cold plunges?

Absolutely not! In fact, we recommend to only run it a couple hours a day to reach your desired temperature.

I'm concerned about condensation and mold.

Rest assured, condensation regularly occurs with every day hot shower and bathtub use with the temperature delta between hot water and ambient air. HomePlunge is no different. Mold is prevented from having air flow in the bathroom. Best practices include keeping the door open and running the exhaust fan during use to maximize air flow.

Do I need to winterize my HomePlunge when it gets cold out?

Absolutely not! HomePlunge is designed for your bathtub meaning it should never need to be exposed to freezing temperatures outside.

Do you offer financing options?

Rates from 0%-36% APR. Payment options through Shop Pay Installments, are subject to an eligibility check and are provided by these lending partners: affirm.com/lenders. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down payment may be required. State notices to consumers https://www.affirm.com/licenses.

Can the water be chilled in advance, while I am not home?

Absolutely. Scheduling is available with the Tuya smart app.

Do you ship internationally?

We are slowly rolling out international orders. Please email us at info@thehomeplunge.com with your shipping address for a quote.

What temperature should a cold plunge at home be?

50–59°F for beginners. Experienced plungers typically settle between 39–50°F. The HomePlunge H3 reaches temperatures as low as 34°F.

Can you turn a regular bathtub into a cold plunge?

Yes. A bathtub chiller like the HomePlunge H3 connects in seconds, cools water 20–30°F per hour, and stows away after use — no plumbing, no installation.

How long should you stay in a cold plunge?

2–11 minutes depending on your goal. Beginners should start with 2–3 minutes. Consistency matters more than duration.

How much does a cold plunge at home cost?

$1,999 (HomePlunge Bella) to $2,999 (HomePlunge H3) one-time, plus roughly $50–100 per year in electricity. DIY ice costs $12–40 per session — more than a chiller within a year of daily use.

Is it safe to cold plunge every day?

Generally yes for healthy adults — many practitioners plunge daily. Start with 2–3 sessions per week and build up. Consult a doctor first if you have a heart condition or are pregnant.

Do you need a chiller for an at-home cold plunge?

Ice works for occasional sessions, but a typical plunge needs 40–80 lbs of it. A chiller holds an exact temperature on a schedule, which is what makes a daily practice sustainable.
